Erbil Governor Urges Investigation into Attack on Kurdish Family in Turkey
On Thursday, four Turks on a road between Adana and Antalya stoped a Kurdish family and attacked them with stones, leaving one man and a 12-year-old child injured.
The attack led to a fierce backlash on social media, calling it a racist attack by the Turks against a Kurdish family who had visited the country for vacation.
Governor Khoshnaw today asked Kurdistan Region’s Department of Foreign Relations and the Turkish Consulate General in Erbil to begin the procedures to prosecute the perpetrators and face them with justice.
He also asked the Turkish Consulate General to issue a condemnation of the attack for the public opinion.
Khoshnaw also contacted the family and ensured them of his support until they will safely return to the Kurdistan Region.
