Top Kurdish Leaders Congratulate Muslims on Eid Al-Fitr
ERBIL - Kurdish prominent leader and President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, has congratulated Muslims in the Kurdistan Region and around the globe on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

"I'd like to extend my sincere wishes to the Muslims of Kurdistan, Iraq, and the rest of the world for a happy and meaningful Eid al-Fitr," Barzani wrote on Twitter. "May the times to come bring you and yours joy, health, and prosperity."

President Nechirvan Barzani also sent a congratulatory message to Muslims and extended his "warmest congratulations to the families of our fallen heroes and all Muslims in Kurdistan, Iraq and around the world."

"I hope this celebration will bring peace and prosperity to everyone, and I hope that our future celebrations are held in better conditions without pandemics, hardships and crises," he added in a statement released by his office.

The Kurdish president further called on all sides to "open a new chapter of partnership and mutual respect to serve our people and our country towards a better future for all in which peace, stability, human rights and freedoms, law and justice are better protected."

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has also expressed his congratulations to Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, hoping that the feast will promote peace, brotherhood, and love among all components living in the region.

Moreover, the premier called on "all citizens" to take the danger of COVID-19 more seriously and keep adhering to the official health guidelines to help the government deal with the pandemic situation.

In a statement on his Facebook feed, PM Barzani additionally hoped that the Kurdistan Region will always stay ''safe and prosperous''.
