Iraqi MP Warns of Reopening Arar Border Crossing with Saudi Arabia
ERBIL - A lawmaker at the Iraqi Parliament has warned of reopening of the Arar border crossing with Saudi Arabia, adding that it could lead to an Islamic State (IS) resurgence in Iraq.

Mohammed Saihud, an MP at the Council of Representatives, said in a statement that Baghdad should not rush in opening the border crossing as the IS militants could use the border gate for infiltrating into Iraq.

The security and stability of the country will be at a great risk, he argued, after the insurgents will start reorganising themselves in Iraq.

Earlier in July, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Iraq revealed that the Arar border crossing, closed since 1990, will officially open on October 15.
