Iran Shells KRG Border for Second Successive Day
ERBIL — Iranian artilleries bombarded the border areas of Kurdistan Region on Thursday for the second day in a row.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Iranian army heavily shelled the border villages where it killed a young woman and wounded two of her siblings.

According to the information obtained by BasNews, today’s bombardment was focused on the slops of Mount Halgord near Choman district of Erbil province.

The new round of Iranian bombardments on KRG borders comes after three IRGC members were killed in an anonymous attack last Monday in Piranshahr, Western Azerbaijan, for which Tehran blames the Iranian Kurdish opposition groups.

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) expressed concern over the bombardment yesterday in an official statement, calling on opposition groups to avoid using KRG territories to pose a threat to its neighbors, and on Iran to end the cross-border attacks.
