ERBIL - Prominent Kurdish leader and former president of the Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, attended on Monday the 8th Congress of the Kurdistan Women's Union (KWU) in Erbil, where he hailed the role of women in the Kurdish nation’s history.

At the beginning of the event, the influential leader, opened an exhibition organized for traditional handworks as part of women's activities.

Vian Sleman, secretary of KWU, thanked Barzani for his support for women in the Kurdistan Region, reiterating that her organization will continue to serve the Kurdish nation.
