Iraq's Masum Ensures McGurk of Holding First Parliament Session as Scheduled
ERBIL - Iraqi President Fuad Masum reiterated on Saturday that his country's first parliament session will take place as scheduled without any delays.

The remarks were made during a meeting between the US special presidential envoy to the coalition against the Islamic State (IS), Brett McGurk, and the Iraqi top official where the US Ambassador to Baghdad Douglas Silliman was also present, according to a statement by the presidential office.

The first session for the council of representatives has been scheduled for Monday.

The officials also discussed the bilateral ties between the sides and the means to further strengthen the relations, the Iraqi leader hailed the prolonged support and humanitarian assistance to the Arab country in various ways.

McGurk, in return, reaffirmed his country's commitment to continue on helping Baghdad and the Iraqi people.
