ERBIL - At least six million Iraqis don't have the ability to read or write a simple statement, country's Ministry of Planning said.

According to a report by the ministry, 8 percent of Iraqi people suffer from illiteracy, out of which are women.

The report explained that the majority of illiterate individuals are aged between 15 to 29.

Iraq currently has a population of around 36 million.
