Iraqi Forces Arrest Five Women in Mosul over Links with IS
According to a statement by the ministry, the five women used to work for IS’s morality police which was responsible for implementing the group’s Sharia Law.
One of the arrested women worked as a “biter”, Kurdistan 24 reported. “She would “bite” women using an iron torture tool to punish those who violated the extremely conservative rules of the jihadist group in Mosul.”
“They worked for al-Hisbah,” as part of the all-female religious police operating under IS which surveilled people’s adherence to a strict moral code.
Security forces said they had accurate information about the women’s pledged alliance with IS when the extremist group was in control of Mosul.
