ERBIL - Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission announced on Monday that it has completed the manual recount of ballots from the May parliamentary election, the outcome of which was rejected due to alleged fraud and irregularities during the process.

The commission explained that the manual recount did not include the votes from eastern Baghdad due to the fire at a ballot boxes and electronic equipment warehouse which engulfed the building two months ago.

It has still not been declared if the manual recount has made any changes to the previous results or when they might be announced publicly.

Even though a few months have passed since the Iraqi parliamentary vote was held, a new government is still yet to be formed. However, negotiations are ongoing on the issue.
