Court of Cassation's new judges sworn in
The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani and a number of Kurdistan Regional Government officials.
With ten judges of the Court of Cassation reaching the legal retirement age, ten new judges were sworn in under Kurdistan Region judicial authority law No. 23 (2007) and distribution of powers of the presidency law No. 2 (2017).
Prime Minister Barzani and the Acting President of the Court of Cassation congratulated the new members and wished them success. With appreciation for their service they thanked the retired judges and all current members of the Court.
They stressed the great responsibility of judges to preserve rights and freedoms, independence of judicial authority, and to coordinate with executive authorities to promote and ensure the rule of law.
