Two Electricity Towers Destroyed in Kirkuk
ERBIL - A couple of imported electricity transmission towers have been destroyed in Kirkuk province through an improvised bomb, and no groups have yet claimed responsibility for the attack, an official said on Thursday.

Saad Agha, an official in Kirkuk media office, told BasNews that the towers, for the electricity transmission importing from Diyala province, were destroyed in the early morning on Thursday.

Agha noted that the attack has affected the power in the city and resulted in the loss of 200 megawatts.

The extremist groups, apart from committing terrorist crimes against the national army as well as civilians, it has also started to target the public services, including the power plants and electricity towers in the Kurdish disputed territories, including Kirkuk.
