Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani met with the outgoing American Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Ken Gross, and his successor, Mr. Steven Fagin.

Mr. Gross thanked the Kurdistan Regional Government for its cooperation during his tenure and he hoped for the continuation of cooperation between the two sides, as Mr. Fagin starts his duties in the region.

Prime Minister Barzani wished Mr. Gross success in his next position and he highly valued his efforts during his tenure in the Kurdistan Region. The Prime Minister also welcomed the new Consul General, saying that the KRG is ready to provide him with needed assistance during his tenure.

He also stressed that the Kurdistan Region will continue to further strengthen its relations with the United States in all fields.

The relation between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, the recent protests in southern and central Iraq, and the internal developments in the Kurdistan Region were also discussed in the meeting.
