Ambassador Iwai visited Prime Minister Barzani to bids farewell as he concludes his duties in Iraq. He expressed his thanks to the Kurdistan Regional Government for the cooperation and facilities provided to his Embassy.

Prime Minister Barzani thanked Ambassador Iwai for his role in strengthening the relations between Japan and Iraq generally and with Kurdistan Region particularly, wishing him success in his next position. He also thanked Japan’s government for its assistance to the Kurdistan Region.

The political process in Iraq was also discussed in the meeting. The two sides agreed that expedition of the formation of the new Iraqi government was required, to provide services to citizens and resolve Iraq’s current issues.
