Over 150 IS Militants Killed Western Anbar, Iraq
ANBAR — In the major operation which was launched against Islamic State (IS) south of Anbar province on Friday some 153 extremist militant were killed, according to a report by War Media Cell.


The report released on Saturday said the Joint Forces Command, Jazira Operations Command, units of the Seventh Division, Commando Forces, Sunni tribal militias and units of Anbar Emergency Police are conducting the operation.

According to War Media Cell two districts of Sagra and Zawiya were liberated in the operation and the Iraqi forces are advancing towards Fhemi Valley.

Also in the comprehensive offensive against IS, the Iraqi forces defused 501 IEDs, detonated five car bombs, and safely neutralize 37 bombed oxygen capsules.

According to the report, the forces also destroyed 15 boats used by the extremists.

Areas of the Sunni Anbar province, southwest of Iraq, are still under the control of IS.
