'Peace and love,’ co-existence celebrated at Erbil festival
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – The 14th Language and Culture Festival was held in the Kurdistan Region’s capital city of Erbil on Thursday for the first time, sending a message to the world that different cultures and languages can live together in peace.

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) put on the festival, which 15 countries participated in.

“Participants attended the festival, bringing their own music and culture,” Nawzad Hadi, Erbil’s Governor, told Rudaw. “Happily the festival was able to take place in Kurdistan, with the participation of 15 countries.”

Participants said that the culture of co-existence among diverse groups has a long history in Kurdistan and people with different cultures, languages, and religions have been living together in Kurdistan for hundreds of years.
