Salahadin, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, (Krp.org)- President Masoud Barzani held a meeting with an international delegation which consisted of representatives of the Group of Seven, G7 and the U.N. Secretary-General Envoy to Iraq, Mr. Jan Kubis, s well as representatives of the World Bank.

During the meeting President Barzani and the large international delegation focused primarily on the current crisis with the terrorists of the Islamic State and the economic situation in the Kurdistan Region. The delegation clearly acknowledged the role of the Peshmerga forces in the war against the terrorists of the Islamic State and also noted that that war has affected the economic situation in the Kurdistan Region.

President Barzani and the delegation also spoke of the role of the Kurdistan Region insofar as the provision of assistance to the refugees and IDPs is concerned. That endeavor has also been costly and the international community ought to provide more support in order for that assistance to continue in accordance to the current standards.

The representatives from the G7 countries and the World Bank vowed to find speedy solutions to the crisis and provide more support to the Kurdistan Region.
