President Barzani Meets with EU's Ambassador to Iraq
Salahadin, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, (Krp.org)- President Masoud Barzani held a meeting today with the ambassador of the European Union to Iraq, Mr. Patrick Simonnet. During the meting President Barzani and Mr. Simonnet spoke of a number of issues facing Iraq in general and the Kurdistan Region in particular including the ongoing war against the terrorists of the Islamic State, the economic crisis and the issue of refugees and IDPs who have found in the Kurdistan Region a safe place to call home.

President Barzani reiterated his gratitude for the support that the Kurdistan Region has received from the coalition and added that the support from the international community has indeed been helpful to the Region during this difficult time. He went on to state that the war against the terrorists has further strengthened the bond between the freedom-lovng peoples around the globe.

On his part ambassador Simonnet said that the European Union is grateful for the role of the Kurdistan Region, both in terms of fighting the terrorists and providing humanitarian assistance to the refugees and IDPs. Furthermore, he claimed that the European Union will continue to provide support to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region as they work to rid the region of the terrorists and resolve the economic crisis.
