Prime Minister Barzani and Turkish President discuss regional developments
Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani yesterday was received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul, during his official visit to Turkey.

Recent developments in the region in general and bilateral relations were discussed in the meeting.

President Erdoğan stressed that Turkey values its relations with the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, affirming his country’s endeavors to strengthen friendly relations.

He reiterated that Turkey fully supports the Kurdistan Region in the war against terrorism and will assist the Kurdistan Region in various fields.

Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani emphasized the strengthening of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey, expressing his appreciation for military and humanitarian assistance to the Region. He expressed his hope that economic and commercial relations will further develop.

It was agreed that meetings and discussions would continue in order to better meet the challenges of the current situation, including stabilising security in the region.
