Salahadin, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, (Krp.org)- President Masoud Barzani received an Italian delegation headed by the President of the Senate, Mr. Pietro Grasso. During the meeting President Barzani thanked the people and government of Italy for their support to the Kurdistan Region with the current ongoing war against the terrorists of the Islamic State. President Barzani and Mr. Grasso spoke of the latest military developments regarding the war against the terrorists of the islamic State.

Mr. Grasso expressed his continued support for the Kurdistan Region in general and the Peshmerga forces in particular. He also spoke of strengthening the bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Italy by, among other things, the opening of the diplomatic consulate in Erbil which is now functional.

President Barzani and Mr. Grasso collectively wished for a brighter new year, hoping that the year to come will bring more successes to the free world and more defeats for the terrorists of the Islamic State.
