Kurdistan Region Council of Ministers marks Flag Day
Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Kurdistan Region Deputy Prime Minister, Qubad Talabani, and several other officials including ministers and government staff attended the ceremony of the Flag Day, held in the Kurdistan Region Council of Ministers’ building on Thursday.

The mother of Martyr Mohammad Rasoul Hassan alongside with the Deputy Prime Minister raised the Kurdistan flag, accompanied by the Kurdish national anthem.

In a speech, Deputy Prime Minister Talabani said the Kurdish people led several revolts and gave scores of martyrs for the sake of their Flag.

He said that “we should put aside personal and parties’ interests, get united and be ready for all likelihoods.” He added, “it is the Kurdistan Flag, which the Peshmerga forces currently fighting for, must unite us”.

Deputy Prime Minister said that the Kurdistan Regional Government is a coalition government of several political parties, “but all must serve the people under the flag of Kurdistan.”

He said, as the Middle East region “goes through significant changes, we must be ready for future political and geopolitical transitions.”
