Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani today met with General Tom Beckett, UK’s Defence Senior Advisor Middle East at the Ministry of Defence.

President Barzani and General Beckett discussed the ongoing efforts to defeat ISIS terrorists, including preparations to retake the city of Mosul from ISIS. They also discussed logistical and training needs of the peshmerga forces.

President Barzani thanked the UK and other coalition members for their support of the peshmerga forces. General Beckett, for his part, lauded the role of the peshmerga forces and described their role as admirable. He added that the UK stands ready to continue to assist the peshmerga forces.
