Salahadin, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, (Krp.org)- President Masoud Barzani received a United States delegation headed by ambasador Stuart Jones, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq. During the meeting President Barzani and ambassador Jones discussed the latest security and military developments in the Kurdistan Region and the rest of Iraq as the collective effort of ridding the country of the terrorists of the Islamic State continues.

President Barzani and the U.S. delegation also spoke of the relations between Erbil and the Federal government in Baghdad and how there is a need for even more enhanced cooperation.

Ambassador Jones expressed his optimism on the defeat of the terrorists of the Islamic State and stated that the role of the Kurdistan Region in this war is critical to the success of the coalition against the Islamic State.
