Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani today met with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Brett McGurk today to discuss the latest political and security developments in Iraq and in the wider region.

President Barzani and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Brett McGurk exchanged views on the security situation in Anbar province and efforts to retake ground from ISIS terrorists in both Iraq and Syria. They also discussed joint preparations by the Peshmerga forces, the Iraqi Army, and US forces for the liberation of Mosul.
