Japan donates $90m for Iraqi refugees
The program, called UN-Habitat, promotes socially and environmentally secure places for displaced people in crisis.
“It is to enhance self-reliance and improve their living conditions through the provision of prefabricated durable shelters and basic services in Baghdad, Duhok and Karbala province,” the UN-Habitat announced in a statement.
From 2004 to 2008, Japan funded four UN-Habitat projects in eight Iraqi cities with a total cost of $42 million.
