Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, (Krp.org)- President Masoud Barzani held a meeting with a United States military delegation headed by General Lloyd Austin, Commander of the United States Central Command. General Austin and President Barzani spoke of the President’s latest visit to Washington and on ways to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the United States and the Kurdistan Region.

President Barzani and General Lloyd Austin also spoke of the latest developments in Iraq especially in the al-Anbar province. The two sides agreed on the significance of quick riddance of the terrorists of the Islamic State in Ramadi and other areas in al-Anbar province.

General Austin reiterated the support of the United States to the Peshmerga forces and to the Iraqi forces in their war against the terrorists, adding that this common enemy must be defeated so that the people of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region can resume their efforts in building a democratic state.
