Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani met with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Bohuslav Sobotka in Prague on Tuesday to discuss strengthening bilateral ties, in particular support to the peshmerga forces in the fight against ISIS terrorists.

The Czech Prime Minister stated that his country would continue to provide support to the Kurdistan Region and its peshmerga force in the fight against terrorism. He also expressed his country’s readiness to expand bilateral relations with the Kurdistan Region in other fields.

President Barzani and Prime Minister Sobotka also discussed the political and security developments in Iraq and the future of the Kurdistan Region.

After arriving in Prague on Monday, the President and his accompanying KRG delegation also met with the President Miloš Zeman and other senior Czech government officials.
