Prime Minister Barzani Receives British Ambassador to Iraq
Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani, yesterday received British Ambassador to Iraq, Frank Baker, and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides discussed the relations between Baghdad and Erbil, and the implementation of the agreement reached last December between Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government of Iraq.

While speaking about the political process in Iraq in general, and the war against the terrorist organization of Islamic State, ISIS, in particular, Mr. Frank Baker expressed the British Government’s appreciation and support to the Peshmerga forces that have been able to liberate vast territories that had been captured by the terrorist organization.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed his appreciation for the visit and the continuous support of the British government for the Kurdistan Region and the Peshmerga forces, hoping that the international community, particularly the United Kingdom as part of the international coalition, will continue their support and assistance to the Kurdistan Region, the Peshmerga forces and Iraq’s political process.

Latest developments in Iraq, the war against ISIS, the anticipated operation to liberate Mosul and the recent visits by Kurdistan Region President, Masoud Barzani, and Iraqi Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi to United States, were topics also discussed in the meeting.
