Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq - Kurdistan Region President, Masoud Barzani, today received the Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper and his companying delegation, which was included Jason Kenney, Minister of Defence, Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development, Bruno Sakomana, Canadian Ambassador to Iraq and number of Canadian government advisors.

President Barzani expressed his gratitude for the role Canna is playing in the current war against the Islamic State terrorist organisation, ISIS.

President Barzani took the opportunity to express his condolences to the Prime Minister for the loss of Sgt. Andrew Doiron, who lost his life due to an unfortunate friendly fire incident by the Peshmerga forces in March.

The Prime Minister commended the Kurdistan Region's military victories against ISIS terrorists and stressed that the support for the Kurdistan Region by the international community will continue as the terrorists of the Islamic State pose a great threat to the entire world.
