We are pleased to announce the arrest of the main perpetrator of the car bomb attack in the Ainkawa area of Erbil, capital of the Kurdistan Region. This cowardly act on 17 April 2015 resulted in the death of 2 civilians and injured a number of bystanders.

The vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) was detonated by remote control.

The perpetrator was arrested on 19 April 2015 and will remain in custody until security services have completed their investigations and charges are filed.
