Last week, the newly recruited Shabak Kurds finished their preparatory military training arranged by the Ministry of Peshmerga of Kurdistan in the Soran district of Hewler Governorate.

In the near future, they will be sent to the fronts in the Bashik and Xazir areas.

Salim Juma?a Mohammad Shabak, a member of the Iraqi Parliament, told ?The Kurdish Globe? that they thank the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Ministry of Peshmerga for setting up battalions which mainly include the Shabak Kurds.

Mr. Salim said that 2000 have joined the battalions. Up till now, 655 of them have finished their training.

In the coming few days, they will be sent to the areas of fighting to protect the sacred land of Kurdistan. Another battalion is ready to be drilled.

He also mentioned that the battalions will act according to the instructions and orders from the Ministry just like other Peshmerga fighters.

Mr. Salim said that the Ministry of Peshmerga has accepted to train a total of 4000 Shabak Kurdish soldiers.

The Kurds of Shabak have been divided into the cities and districts of Kurdistan and lower Iraq. A great number of them come from sub-districts of Sheikhan, Hamdiyana, and Teklif.

Their recruitment by the Ministry of Peshmerga is to free those areas that they have been expelled from.
