Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani expressed his condolences for the passing of Mar Dinkha, the Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East.

In a letter addressed to the Assyrian Church of the East, the President said, “With great sadness, we heard the news of the passing of Patriarch Mar Dinkha who passed away on the 26 of March 2015, in Minnesota, US. He was a religious leader of Iraq and the world who had a role in strengthening fraternity and advocated peaceful coexistence among followers of different faiths. On this sad occasion, I express my condolences to the Assyrian Church of the East, all followers of this Church, and the family of Patriarch Mar Dinkha.”
