US Vice President Joe Biden spoke with Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani on Saturday to wish the President and the people of Kurdistan a happy Kurdish New Year or Nowruz.

The US Vice President expressed his condolences to the President for the fallen peshmerga in recent battles against the ISIS terrorists. He also praised the recent successes of the peshmerga forces against the ISIS terrorists and reiterated US government support for them.

President Barzani thanked the government and people of the United States for their support and stressed the need for continued cooperation to defeat the terrorists.
