Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani today met with the current UK Government’s Security Envoy to the Kurdistan Region, Lieutenant General Sir Simon Mayall, and the new UK envoy General Tom Beckett.

The meeting focused on the efforts by the peshmerga forces, with the support of the coalition forces, aimed at defeating the ISIS terrorists. The UK envoy congratulated the peshmerga forces for their recent successes in this fight and reiterated his government’s commitment to support the peshmerga forces.

President Barzani expressed his thanks to the UK and other international coalition partners for their support of the peshmerga. He added that without such support, from the UK, the USA, and other coalition members, the recent gains by the peshmerga forces would not have been possible.
