According to an ex- member of the Diala Provincial Council, the members of the National Guards and other Shiite militia groups in the Province are making a mess in the town of Jalawla, and ?are about to destroy the whole town.?

Amer Rafaat, member of the Diala Provincial Council told a local Kurdish daily newspaper that the Shiite fighters burned a number of houses belonging to the Kurdish inhabitants of the town last week.

?These forces [Shiite militia] entered the town so that the Kurds do not dare to go back to their homes,? Rafaat told the newspaper.

?A few days ago 150 families returned to their homes in Saadia, but fearing the National Guard forces, they vacated their homes once again the same day and left the town.?

Rafaat says the militia is destroying the Kurdish populated neighborhoods in the town.

They do not allow anyone to enter the Jamahir district, the largest Kurdish neighborhood in Jalawla.

Commenting on the return of the displaced families to Jalawla and Saadia towns, the source said three months have passed after the two towns were liberated from the Islamic State, but still the Kurdish displaced families are afraid to return to their homes and still live in harsh conditions in Khanaqeen and other surrounding areas.

?We need to hurry up and stop this Arabization process,? says Rafaat.
