Kurdistan Regional Government condemns the murder of Japanese hostage Yukawa
Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq, (gov.krd) - In a statement, the Kurdistan Regional Government Council of Ministers today condemned the murder of the Japanese hostage Haruna Yukawa by the Islamic State terrorist organisation, known as ISIS.

Following is the text of the statement:

We strongly condemn the heinous murder of the Japanese citizen Haruna Yukawa by ISIS terrorist organisation which abducted him in Syria in August last year.

This savage and inhuman act that ISIS has committed proves that the threat that these terrorists pose is not limited to any religion, ethnicity or country, and that this organisation is an enemy of the world, civilisation and humanity. The international community needs to take this threat more seriously and needs to unite in all the domains in order to jointly eradicate this grave threat.

On behalf of the Kurdistan Regional Government we present our sincere condolences to the family of Haruna Yukawa and the people and government of Japan. We also call for the immediate release of the other Japanese hostage, Kenji Goto, held by ISIS terrorist organisation.
