PM Nechirvan Barzani visits Gwer - Makhmour frontline
Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq, (KRG.org) - Kurdistan Region Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani, on the first day of the New Year visited Gwer and Makhmour sector of the battlefront against the Islamic State terrorist organization, known as ISIS.

In a meeting with the General Commander of the sector and its officers, the Prime Minister was briefed about the latest military developments on that front, particularly regarding the recent days victories of the Peshmerga forces, which have cleared vast areas from ISIS fighters, inflicting them heavy casualties.

Accompanied by military commanders, Prime Minister Barzani visited the frontline, where he told the Peshmerga troops that the purpose of his field visit is to congratulate them on the victories they had achieved over the past few days.

He also congratulated the Peshmerga troops on the New Year, wishing them, their families and all the people of Kurdistan to be victorious in 2015 and the return of stability and security to the whole region. The Prime Minister also commended the significant role played by the Peshmerga forces in pushing back ISIS terrorists from the borders of the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs, stressing that the Peshmerga forces heroically defend and protect the frontlines from Kobane to Sinjar, Jalawla and Saddiya.

Prime Minister Barzani stated that the Kurdistan Regional Government is working to unify the Peshmerga forces as well as improving their living condition.
