60 NATIONS UNITED AGAINST ISIS TERROR
By Roni Alasor / NATO Head Quarter in Brussels

3 December 2014 - Middle East Diplomatic (MED) - 60 nations, members of the anti-ISIL coalition gathered in the Head Quarter of NATO in Brussels for updates on coalition efforts and to make suggestions about the roadmap ahead for a more effective strategy in fight against Isil (Daesh). Over 10 Arabic nations, including Qatar and other countries which are accused to finance Deash-terror, also joined the meeting.

The main message of meeting was "The rise of Daesh in the summer is now collapsing with heavy casualties. But the war against jihadist terror groups has to be more intensive for effective results".

Kurdish effective war against Daesh terror was praised, but Kurds weren`t invited

In the opening remarks, John Kerry called Daesh as barbaric criminals who have no human values and he praised the role of Kurdish forces as brave fighters who saved the life of hundred thausands of Kurdish, Christian and Arabic civilians. But it was remarkable question in the NATO corridors why Kurdish authorities from Kurdistan Region (KRG) were not invited, as well they who fight against Daesh in Kobani / Rojava.

"The rise of Daesh in the summer is now collapsing with heavy looses" said John Kerry, the Coordinator of Counter Daesh Coalition and underlined the importance of a more effective multi fight for final success. In the last two months, more then 1,000 airstrikes carried out by the US lead-coalition in Iraq and Syria which weakened Deash and the group’s leadership.

Regarding the First Ministerial anti-ISIL coalition meeting, Secretary of State said “It was absolutely clear in the comments of everybody, particularly the prime minister of Iraq and his team, that we have made already significant progress in two and a half months. But we also acknowledge there is a lot more work yet to be done. Daesh is still perpetrating terrible crimes, but there was a consensus that the momentum which it had exhibited two and a half months ago has been halted, that it has been forced to modify its tactics – and some of those modifications severely hampering their ability to operate in the way that they were, certainly – that their hold on territory has been challenged already, and their finances have been strained, and in almost every media market that exists, and certainly within the region, their message is being denounced”.

The meeting was in the first ministerial level, but coalition is open for new members in next months. Isolated Iran and North Korea, Russia and China were not represented in meeting. but coalitions door will be open for nations like Russia, China, India and many other big and small countries.
