Salahaddin, Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRP.org) - Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani met with director of Middle East and North Africa at the French Foreign Ministry, Mr. Jean-François Girault, in Salahaddin on Tuesday.

The meeting between the President and the French official focused on bilateral relations and the current political and security crisis in Iraq.

Mr. Jean-François Girault prasied the role of the Kurdistan Region peshmerga forces to secure large swaths of the country from terrorist groups during the recent security developments.

Both sides stressed the need to seek political solutions to the current crisis and emphasized that military solutions alone would not lead to stability in the country.
