Italy’s Foreign Minister Calls President Barzani
The Italian Foreign Minister, who is in Brussels to attend a meeting of EU foreign ministers, consulted the President about the political developments in Iraq and expressed concern about the current security crisis that has engulfed the country.
President Barzani attributed the current crisis to the wrong policies of the rulers in Baghdad and the sectarian strife in the country. He said the Iraq of after the Nineva events is a new Iraq, adding that now the Kurdistan Region has no boundary with the Iraqi government-controlled areas.
“Unless the current crisis is defused, Kurdistan’s leadership will ask the people of Kurdistan to decide their future,” said the President.
