The two discussed the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the failure of the Iraqi army in Mosul and other areas. “The Kurdistan Region has always been a part of the solution but the behavior of certain people in Baghdad has led to the current crisis,’ said President Barzani, emphasizing the new situation in Iraq, the nature of relationship between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region has entered a new phase. “in spite of this, as it has always been our position, we will confront terrorists and we consider them to be a threat to all sides.

The President also stressed that all outstanding problems in the country must be resolved through political means, and that all sides must resolve to address these issues based on consensus and power-sharing.
