UN relocates international staff from Baghdad
The United Nations on Monday said it has relocated nearly 60 staff members from Baghdad, and may move additional personnel out of the Iraqi capital in the coming days because of growing security concerns.

The U.N. made the announcement Monday when asked to revisit an official's remark Friday that "Baghdad is safe."

"I think the fact that we're going to be relocating some staff speaks for itself," Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq said. "The situation has changed on the ground in the last few days and we are adjusting our posture accordingly."

He said sapproximately 200 U.N. international staff were in Baghdad and 58 of them will be relocated to Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan.

"We are going to continue with our activities whether political or humanitarian or otherwise," Haq said.
