Ansar al-Sunna responds to al-Qaeda by an attack and expels it from regions in Kirkuk
A security source in Kirkuk province said on Monday, that Ansar al-Sunna carried out an attack on the home of al-Qaeda leader southwest of Kirkuk, in response to al-Qaeda organization killing of a leader of the organization first .

"The militants of al- Ansar al-Sunna attacked the house of one of the leaders of al -Qaeda and the so-called , Khamees Wameth al- Mafraji in Husseiniya village affiliated to al-Abbasi sub-district southwest of Kirkuk , wounding his son,” the source told “Shafaq News”.

The attack comes one day after al-Qaeda killed one of the leaders of Ansar al-Sunna , Ibrahim Samir in Muradiya village affiliated to al- Zab sub-district as a clash took place between the two sides, injuring three members of the leadership of Ansar al-Sunna organization wanted by the Iraqi security forces in Kirkuk .

The source pointed out that " the conflict between the two organizations has forced al-Qaeda to withdraw from most of the areas which had extended its influence towards Hamrin mountain and al- Zab sub-district."

Sharp differences have increased between the two organizations on the background of acceptance of " Ansar al-Sunna " to participate in the parliamentary elections that took place at the end of last month as al-Qaeda rejects the political process and cooperation with the Iraqi government through engaging in the ranks of the security forces .
