In a statement released on April 27th on the upcoming parliamentary and provincial elections due on today the 30th of April, Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani called on the people of Iraqi Kurdistan to exercise their right to vote.



“In order to defend the rights of the Kurdish people and to stand up to their detractors in the political process in Iraq, I ask for your enthusiastic participation in the election and vote for your representative in the Iraqi Council of Representatives,” said the message from the President, also urging on people to cast their votes in the provincial election, due on the same day.
