As part of their annual commemoration of Halabja`s tragedy, KRG representatives in the United Kingdom are going to conduct a seminar under the name of “Justice to Halabja”.



The seminar is going to be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2014, and a number of attorneys, chemical weapon experts and U.K. MPs are going to participate in the memorial of the victims of Halabja.

The gathering will feature talks regarding the effects of chemical weapons and the legal role of international organizations to prevent the use of such weapons in the future.

Attendants will participate by presenting speeches and activities. Beside summoning some experts in the fields of chemical weapons and international criminal laws, the activities will feature witnesses from inside the tragedy who either suffered from the chemical weapons or participated in the treatment of victims of such weapons, such Dr. Zryan Osman, a doctor and war veteran (ancient Peshmerga), who witnessed some chemical attacks and cured some civilian victims from 1981-1990.

Such activities are aimed at reaching the Kurdish message to the outside world and to pave the way to the recognition of the catastrophe as genocide by the British government and the international community.
