Sponsored by the Zagros Forum, representatives of the PYD, including its co-chair Salih Muslim and some Swedish journalists, held a seminar at the Stockholm University.


The head of the Syriac Council Mr. Bassam Ishaq also participated along with other Swedish politicians.


During the seminar two Swedish journalists from BBC reported on their visit to Rojava and highlighted the democratic process and the role of the people’s protection units (YPG) in protecting the region.


They showed a short film documenting their visit. Mr. Salih Muslim also gave a speech were he focused on the capability of the Kurdish people and other people in the region to manage their own affairs and to protect the region against armed mercenary groups supported by regional powers.


Mr. Muslim indicated the democratic self-rule administration should be a model for the rest of the country. He pointed out that democratic self-rule administration; decentralization and local rule are necessary factors to successfully build up a new and pluralistic Syria in the future
