President of Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barazani, discussed in Erbil, with the Leader of Iraqiya Alliance, Iyad Allawi, and the Iraqi National Conference (INC), Ahmed Chalabi, the political situation in the area and the Syrian crisis.

A statement issued by the Region's Presidency said that Barazani stressed that Iraq's political process is in need of good will and commitment to agreements concluded between political sides, pointing out the necessity for political sides to have independent patriotic will, with a major goal of stabilizing the country and citizens' prosperity.

Barazani pointed out that the message and aim of the Kurdish National Convention to the region's people and the world is a message of peace coexistence and nonviolence.

The statement went on saying that Allawi presented a summary on Iraq's political, security and economic situation, stressing the need for putting Iraq's political process on its right track, where all political sides seek to stay away from sectarianism and to make the services and patriotic activities be their criterion.

Allawi and Chalabi arrived on Monday, Sep. 9, in Erbil.
