KRG official: Reports over Israel presence in Kurdistan aim at "troublemaking"
Recent statements by Iranian Consul General to Erbil over Israel presence in Kurdistan was refuted by Kurdistan officials.
Officials at the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) are "surprised" and wonder why Iranian consul general occasionally raises the topic of Israel presence in the region, said KRG Foreign Relations Chief Falah Mustafa.
Mustafa said his office has officially invited the council general to submit any evidence in support of his claim "so that we take action and take practical steps officially."
"He [the consul general] did not have any evidence," Mustafa said.
He added his office has also demanded the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to officially demand its Iranian counterpart comment on the subject.
If there is no evidence, "they should not attack the KRG.
"Since no one has any evidence, the intention is only creating troubles for Kurdistan."
