Stars align for pro-Peshmerga concert in London
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – An all-star collection of Kurdish musicians will hold a concert in London to show support and raise funds for the Peshmerga forces now fighting ISIS in Iraq and the Kurdistan region.

The Lost Melody Group, an ensemble of traditional Kurdish musicians, will be joined by famous singers Salah Rauf, Mohammad Abbas Bahram, Paiman Omar and Roj Karim, for the event to be held on Friday at Kensington Town Hall.

“The London concert indicates the Kurdish singers’ loyalty to the Peshmerga, the country and the land. We would like to invite all Kurds living in Europe to the concert in support of Peshmerga forces, the protectors of Kurdistan,” Amal Saeed Kurda, a well-known singer and event organizer, told Rudaw on Tuesday.

“High-profile Kurdish artists have volunteered to participate, and our purpose is to tell the Peshmerga: we are supporting you through music,” Kurda added.

Kurda said all proceeds raised by the event will go directly to the Peshmerga.
