Rapper 50 Cent talks to Al Arabiya about his business venture in Dubai
In an interview with Al Arabiya on the sidelines of GITEX Technology Week, 50 Cent spoke of his latest entrepreneurial venture and expressed his confidence with the competition in the market.
“These headsets are wireless headsets. They use 16 bit lossless wireless technology - used in the Maybach to communicate across the actual vehicle. This product has a base booster, volume control, skip through songs,” he said.
“One of the bigger things for me was concentrating on durability, because I broke so many different products in the past and I wanted to make sure was tougher. It's made out of material that you can actually do some things that I dare you to do with those other products.”
Part of the proceeds from the sale of SMS headphones will go to the Dubai Autism Center.
50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, showed his light-hearted side, explaining his other nickname, Fiddy.
“Her accent!” he said, referring to wife of iconic rocker Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne. “She said, 'Fiddy Cent' at the MTV Awards, and then everywhere I went after that, they said 'is your name Fifty, or Fiddy?' Some people possess a different ability to change people's minds. That one time she said it at the awards - I've been creating clarity for years after,” he said with a smile.
The 37-year old Grammy winner, who catapulted into stardom in 2003 with his first album “Get Rich Die Tryin’,” has branched out to include film production and acting, energy drinks and accessories onto his résumé.
