In a devastating incident earlier today, a truck lost control and collided with a total of 19 vehicles in Dukan district, resulting in significant injuries and widespread property damage. The incident occurred on Friday, April 26, 2024.

Preliminary reports from the scene indicate that the collision left 13 individuals injured, with numerous vehicles sustaining various degrees of damage. Traffic Colonel Bahman Abdullah revealed that the accident was caused by a flatbed truck transporting a container from Sulaimani to Dukan, which veered off course prior to reaching a checkpoint. The truck initially struck two vehicles before careening into a cluster of others, exacerbating the severity of the catastrophe. The driver, identified as an Arab national from Baghdad, lost control of the vehicle during transit.

Following the incident, officials from Dukan health swiftly responded by transporting twelve of the injured victims to the hospital. Thankfully, the injuries reported so far are minor, with no critical cases identified. Medical personnel are actively managing the situation, with a special focus on addressing the needs of women and children among the injured.
